We're Here!!

Hello everyone!!  We decided to put together a little bog so you guys can keep up with our adventures during our time here in Escazu, Costa Rica. Well, we have successfully completed our first weekend and it has already proven to be full of excitement. We arrived on Friday to find Maria Fernanda waiting for us at the airport. After stopping by the bank to change currency and dropping our bags off at our new home, we went by the school. I was able to meet my teacher who is very sweet and even gave us a tour of the city. She took us to burbujas “bubbles” which is the place where her son takes swim lessons. We then returned to our home and were able to meet our host dad, Gustavo.  We spent some time getting everything situated in our little room. It’s so cute!! We have our little twin beds with twin comforters… basically we’re twins!! We were also able to meet our host mom Marjoire and brother Luis who is 14 years old. Our host family is so nice. They have been very helpful and kind and we are enjoying getting to know them. Plus our “mom” is a great cook!! We’ve really enjoyed the food so far. On Saturday we toured the city some more and practiced the walk to Country Day School (CDS). We also went to a fresh fruit and veggie market… so neat! We visited our host mom’s store that sells teacher supplies- that was fun too. Alaina and I could have bought everything in the store! Yesterday we went to church at International Baptist Church with a lady from CDS named Jen. She’s super sweet and took us out to lunch at a authentic Costa Rican restaurant. We were also able to meet Lisa and Jessie who are Young Life leaders here in Escazu!!! So we’re going to be going to YL club for CDS on Wednesday night. We’re both really excited about this because it is a small piece of home.  Well that’s pretty much our adventures so far.  Please be praying for us as we minister to our host family and the teachers and students around us at CDS. We love you all!
